To make the job the most cost effective and efficient it could be our Senior Designer David Greenall liaised with Andy McCluskey of APM Design to make sure the designs were produced to meet the needs of Abbey House Hotel. Production of CAD drawings enabled Wilton’s to cut, weave and design into the finished article. A full accurate site survey was carried out to enable us to check the designs on site, alterations were made to the plans, because certain aspects don’t always work out on site.
As this project was a complete refurbishment, we were dealing with 2500 sqm of floor covering and working with several different sub floors. A substantial amount of repairs were undertaken including height levels of the floors and stairs, without this extensive preparation work the end product wouldn’t have been the same. In certain parts of the hotel, for example the 1st floor bedrooms are located directly above the kitchen, so we recommended Abbey House Hotel use acoustic underlay, this is something we have vast experience and knowledge about. Our recommendations enabled the hotel to reduce sound levels by 35 decibels.
“With over 30 years experience as professional commercial interior designers, we were very impressed with the quality of the service provided by Kendal Quality Carpets. Having them as part of the team on site made the process of setting out very detailed bespoke carpets & Amtico flooring to a complex listed building - stress free. They offered knowledgeable suggestions and carried out the flooring preparation and installation to a very high standard. We will definitely recommend and use KQC for our future projects.”
